MOTEL

“Stopped at Hutch’s based on TripAdvisor reviews. Yes it is a no frills motel, but as others have mentioned, it is CLEAN. It appears all of the rooms are basically the same size, with the differences being in decor (some had paneling, others not), and the number of beds in the room. As a whole, the rooms are HUGE, the motel is pet friendly, yet you would never suspect it , as there is absolutely no evidence of pets staying. AT&T must have updated their tower, because, even while in the concrete block room, there was 3 bars of 3G service.”

“This summer will be our 11th year stopping at Hutch’s on our way to Wyoming. Our big dogs have always been welcome. The rooms are big and clean and comfortable and quiet. When I forgot dog towels one year, they supplied me with plenty of extra ones for muddy, wet feet.”

“Stumbled onto this place enroute from Deadwood to Sioux Falls. Scott (the Manager?) assisted us because our rv got stuck in the snow at the driveway. He was so friendly, the rooms were super clean and quiet, lounge next door. Pet friendly and non smoking rooms. This was just what we needed. Thank you! We would stay here again.”

“This cafe has a real home town atmosphere, with “farm fresh” quality food. The service is fast and friendly. A road weary traveler will smile after visiting this gem. This is a great place to rest up, recharge before the final push into the badlands.”

“I stopped here while driving from Los Angeles to New York City. A lot of places along the road offer an American dining experience, but most are over-priced tourist traps. At Hutch’s, which has been in business for 60 years, you will get the real thing. I had the goulash (macaroni and sauce bolongese,) which came with a side of mashed potatoes, roll (3 starches, one meal) and cooked carrots, along with the soup of the day. This, with soda and tip, cost me $10. I was the big spender. Most meals, you can be out the door by spending $6-$7 or less. If you are traveling through SD, take the Presho exit and check this place out. There’s also a “lounge”, if you need some alcohol.”
